At the July 12, 2011 meeting, the Board of Supervisors unanimously passed Ordinance Number 23 which abolished the current nine (9) member planning commission and created a restructured five member (5) commission.  Accordingly, the supervisors are currently seeking applications from members of the community who would be interested in being appointed to the commission.  Applications can be downloaded from the documents section. Please submit your application to the township secretary no later than Friday, August 5, 2011 to be considered.

The Board of Supervisors adopted a new open records policy at our regular meeting on July 12, 2011.  Please visit our "Documents" section to view/download copies of the new policy as well as the Right-to-Know form to be used to make document requests.

The Rural Planning Organization (RPO) for the North Central Regional Planning & Development Commission has begun a Corridor Safety Analysis of the region's priority roadway system.  

As the first step of the study, North Central is asking local residents to voice their safety concerns by taking a survey either online or on paper.  The deadline for responses is April 29, 2011.  Please take the time to respond to this very important survey, as it will help raise awareness making the the replacement of this very dangerous bridge a priority.

We have uploaded a searchable pdf copy of the Jefferson County Draft Model Stormwater Management Ordinance in our documents section. This draft ordinance will be used as a template for Polk Township's own Stormwater Management Ordinance which must be adopted at our February 8, 2011 meeting. We encourage the public to review this draft ordinance and contact us with any comments or suggestions for further discussion at our upcoming January 11, 2011 meeting.
